Once again RUMSBC is victorious!

It’s with great pleasure that I can say that RUMSBC have again have put in a sterling performance and come away with a lot of success.

This weekend was the annual UH Novice regatta, the first sprint races of the year and a good competition to get all the freshers rowing against the other medical schools and a place to start developing that healthy rivalry that will last for eternity.

Congratulations to both the men and the women who rowed amazingly well, with the boys defeating everyone who stood in their path to come out victorious and the best Novice sprint crew in UH. Thats the first of what i’m sure will be many more medals to come. We can only hope its a repeat of the perfect season seen last year!

The girls, had a minor hiccup that saw them lose the first race by the smallest of margins to ISCM1 who went on to win the competition, and if the course had been just a few metres longer could have easily won (so I hear). But they regrouped and with a renewed determination to “destroy some people” (I’m paraphrasing), went on to win the repecharge competition! All it means is that there is a point to prove at Allom cup next week and at the Winter regatta in January that RUMSBC Novice girls are the best in UH.

Pictures to come I hope!!
