RUMSBC, the Royal free, University College and Middlesex Boat Club, is the rowing club attached to UCL medical school. Initially formed in 1997 following the amalgamation of the Royal Free, Middlesex and UCH rowing clubs, the club has gone from strength to strength with much success on the Tideway every year. RUMSBC is one of the largest sports clubs within UCL medical school with over 60 members. Rowing from the University of London boat house in Chiswick, the club competes in events organised by the United Hospitals (UH), competing against other medical schools and the vetinary college based in London. As well as fielding six male and female eights in these events, our oarsmen regularly compete in the British University Championships and have competed for both UH and other clubs at Henley Royal Regatta.
The club is run by a committee nominated at the end of each academic year at the annual general meeting: Committe 2012-2013. Funding comes in the form of a yearly grant from UCL union and membership fees. Accounts are managed by the club treasurer and all expenditures are approved by UCL union. Information about individual aspects of the club can be found on the websites. For more information feel free to contact the club using the details at the bottom of the page.
